What kind of maintenance do wood-fired ovens require?
Maintenance on wood-fired ovens is typically minimal. After the oven is cooled, the remaining ash and soot should be removed and disposed of. Some ovens (like ours) are self-cleaning due to the type of brick or concrete that is used. However, whether the oven is self-cleaning or not, it’s important to clean the flue (chimney) at least once a year to avoid fire hazards.
